DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated information on the dangers of excessive heat which continues today. A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of central Iowa from 1 PM to 8 PM today, then for portions of southeast Iowa from 1 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday due to heat indices near or exceeding 105° to 110°. A few strong to severe storms are possible in far northwest Iowa to far north central Iowa tonight.
