BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Sheriff’s Department has investigated a single vehicle accident that occurred Saturday afternoon, October 7th. The single vehicle rollover occurred at 1:55 on 130th Street west of Nature Road. The accident report says that 59 year old Michael Jay Batterson was headed east through the curves on 130th Street when he apparently failed to maintain control, left the roadway, rolled and was ejected from the vehicle. Batterson’s vehicle came to a rest on it’s wheels and burst into flames. Batterson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
