Weekly Court Summary for the Boone County Attorney’s Office

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Attorney Matt Speers continues to make available updates on court cases handled by his office. This past week, they handled a case that involved one of four people arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping and conspiracy associated with an incident in Boone in January. The victim had been beaten, robbed, bound and dumped on a road in rural Boone county. A Boone County jury found 23-year-old Juan Anthony Davila Moore guilty on all counts. Sentencing will be held at a later date. Information is available on the Boone County Attorney’s Facebook page.

A Public Hearing was held on a project to rehabilitate the Ground Storage Reservoir at the Water Treatment Plant. Bidding will be the next step. Stines noted that several engineering contracts were awarded to SEH for development of plans for projects at Boone Water Works, including a new transmission main to run on the northside of the city to the Boone Industrial Park.
