COURT SUMMARIES
4-6-25 – 4-17-26
– Dylan Lee Curtis Bundy, 25, Beaver, appeared for trial in District Court on charges of Intimidation with a Weapon, a Class C Felony; Going Armed with Intent, a Class D Felony; Child Endangerment and Assault with a Weapon, both Aggravated Misdemeanors. Following two days of trial, the jury returned guilty verdicts to all but the Intimidation counts. The case involved an incident in Beaver July of 2025 in which a firearm was discharged. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with assistance of the Iowa State Patrol.
– Jackson Trevor Pohren, 26, Early, was sentenced by the District Court following guilty pleas to Enticing a Minor, Grooming, and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, all Class D Felonies. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
– Danny Alton Gotschall, 53, Boone, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to Sex Offender Registry Violation 2nd, a Class D Felony as a Habitual Offender. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with a minimum 3 years if ever served, but all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
– Kayli Jayde Elsberry, 28, Boone, was sentenced by the District Court following guilty pleas to Accessory After the Fact, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and Trespass, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison, consecutive to another sentence, and suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Andrew Paul Delawyer, 41, Boone, was found in Contempt by the District Court following an admission to having violated the terms of his probation. On the Contempt, the defendant was sentenced to 7 days in jail.
– Jeremy David Slawson, 48, Dayton, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison, with all but 7 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a drinking drivers course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
– Luis Donaldo Silva Morales, 32, Medinah IL, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced 7 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a drinking drivers course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Caden Michael Larrew, 19, Boone, was granted a deferred judgment by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Criminal Mischief 4th, a Serious Misdemeanor. On the deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Teodoro Rocha Reyes, 44, Des Moines, was granted a deferred judgment by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Domestic Abuse Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor. On the deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a batterer’s education course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
– Justin Lance Borman, 38, Preston, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Violation of a No Contact Order, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 7 days in jail, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Ryan Dale Dunn, 39, Ames, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Theft 5th, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Troy William Coy, 54, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Criminal Mischief 5th, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
– Aricka Kristen Ullius, 27, was granted a deferred judgment by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Disorderly Conduct, a Simple Misdemeanor. On the deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
