Weekly Court Summary From the Boone County Attorney’s Office

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Attorney Matt Speers office makes available a summary of cases handled by the County Attorney’s office for the past week. This week’s summary includes a number of Class D Felony cases.

COURT SUMMARIES

5-4-25 – 5-15-26

– Casey Duaine Hay, 60, Ames, appeared in District Court and was found to have violated the terms of his probation. The defendant had his probation revoked and the original 5 year prison sentence imposed on an original charge of Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd, a Class D Felony.

– Kaydin Enrico Milani Oler, 29, Boone, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea Sex Offender Registry Violation 2nd, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years prison, all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Laurie May Larsen, 46, Ogden, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to OWI 3rd, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years prison with placement in a Residential OWI Program, and to reside out of custody pending placement, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a drinking drivers course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Ava Rosemary Schuster, 18, Cumming, was granted a deferred judgment from the District Court following an Alford plea to Eluding, a Class D Felony. On the deferred the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a civil penalty and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– David Michael Lenning, 48, Paton, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a drinking drivers course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Mary Lillian Newland, 27, Granger, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced 2 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a drinking drivers course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Madrid Police Department.

– Duane Paul Cleek, 51, Corydon, was sentenced by the District Court following guilty pleas to Trespass and Theft 5th, both Simple Misdemeanors. The defendant was sentenced to 30 days in jail, all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Corey Jones, 33, West Chicago IL, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Harassment 3rd, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Troy Dean Burgoon, 48, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Possession of a Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Duane Allen Chally, 73, Sunrise Beach MO, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Trespass, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Sean Patrick Collette, 40, Ogden, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Disorderly Conduct, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Kyle Harrison Long, 36, Gilbert, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Public Intoxication, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
