DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the Weekly Fuel Report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline dropped 4 cents from last week’s price and is currently averaging $2.92 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.36 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $62.38.
- Brent crude oil fell by $2.78 and is currently priced at $65.43.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $79.81 and Brent crude was $82.51.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.92 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices dropped 4 cents from last week’s price and are down 34 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.16, down 1 cent from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa stayed the same this week with a statewide average of $3.56.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.48 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 16 cents lower than the national average of $3.72.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.96 for U87-E10, $2.26 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.35 for ULSD#2, $2.68 for ULSD#1, and $1.91 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices were down 22 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.82 MMbtu.
- We will continue reporting retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa in October.
