DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report which shows regular unleaded gasoline prices in Iowa were up 7 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.22.Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.79 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $87.92.
- Brent crude oil fell $.91 and currently priced at $88.89.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $54.76 and Brent crude was at $57.62.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, February 2, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.22 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 7 cents from last week’s price and 89 cents higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.40, up 6 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 8 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.57.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.53 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 17 cents less than the national average of $3.74.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.48 for U87-E10, $2.76 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.74 for ULSD#2, $3.03 for ULSD#1, and $2.28 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up 1 cent with a statewide average of $1.93 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices rose 11 cents, with a statewide average of $3.26 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices rose $1.23 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.36/MMbtu.
