DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 5 cents, averaging $3.06 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $1.71 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $79.18.
- Brent crude oil rose $1.36 and is currently priced at $84.02.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $77.05 and Brent crude was at $83.21.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.06 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 9 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.29, up 2 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.80.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.99 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $4.07.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.31 for U87-E10, $2.60 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.59 for ULSD#2, $2.86 for ULSD#1, and $1.83 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices averaged $1.59 per gallon statewide.
- Home heating oil prices averaged $3.14 per gallon statewide.
- Natural gas prices rose 10 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $1.86/MMbtu
