The Ogden Bulldogs hosted Woodward-Granger in a West Central Activities Conference doubleheader Friday, December 19, but the Hawks came away with wins in both the girls’ and boys’ matchups.
Girls: Woodward-Granger 39, Ogden 28
Woodward-Granger used a strong second quarter to take control, outscoring Ogden 13-4 to build a 22-10 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs fought back in the fourth quarter, holding the Hawks to just eight points, but Ogden managed only eight themselves, and the comeback fell short.
Dakota Jones had 11 points (3/10 FG, 3/6 3PT, 2/2 FT), 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
Lauren Mathews had 6 points (2/5 FG, 1/4 3PT) and 2 assists.
Anna Wilson had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
Ogden is now 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Boys: Woodward-Granger 50, Ogden 40
The boys’ game was a battle for three quarters.
Ogden led, 4-3, after the first quarter and trailed by just one at halftime, 15-14.
The Bulldogs stayed close, down 30-28 after three quarters, but Woodward-Granger scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Colson Carson had 18 points (7/15 FG), 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block.
Brayden Miller had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
Jase Coleman had 7 points and 3 assists.
Ogden falls to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Ogden hosts Madrid on Friday, January 2, in a conference doubleheader.
The girls tip at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys at about 7:30 p.m.
