BOONE, Iowa—This weekend’s Wreath’s Across America event for Boone County has been rescheduled due to a delay in the delivery of more than one-thousand Christmas Wreaths that will be displayed in Boone County cemeteries on the graves of veterans.
Richelle Bergeson coordinates the Boone County program and announced Friday morning that the wreaths will be delivered Saturday about 1:00 p.m. and will be delivered to the Bomgaars parking lot on the south side of Boone. Volunteers will be needed to assist in moving wreaths from the truck making the delivery to a second truck that will be used to transport the wreaths to cemeteries in Boone County.
Bergeson says the Ceremony has been rescheduled to Sunday, December 15th at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the Veterans Monument at the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. The public is invited to attend and then join in traveling to other cemeteries to assist in the placement of the wreaths.
