BOONE, Iowa—Students from Boone High School competed at the North Central District FFA Convention on Saturday, March 1, 2025 held at Charles City High School. Leadership Development Event, or LDE’s, competitions were held for the 40 FFA Chapters in north central Iowa along with business and awards sessions.
LDE’s qualifying for State include:
Chapter Program: Ashlyn Lovig, Jenna Johnson, Maddie Barrett – 1st Place Gold and advances to State.

Ag Sales: Wyatt Herrstrom – 1st Place Gold and advances to State.

Experience the Action: Emma Wiebold, Halle Johnson, Matthew Fitzgerald, Tommy Williams, Riley Stolte, Brody McNace, ETA Support/Audience – Owen Hill, Brayleigh Haglund, Tala Wittrock – 2nd Place Gold and advances to State.

Secretary’s Book: Jenna Johnson – 2nd Place Silver and advances to State.

Additionally, a new Spanish Creed Speaking invitational LDE was held for the first time in the North Central District. Hector Garcia Palacios of the Boone A&M FFA Chapter earned 1st Place to win the event.

Representing the FFA Chapter at the Business Session as voting delegates were Ethan Mulhenburg and Trent Ekhart. Senior FFA members Wyatt Herrstrom and Emma Wiebold earned the Iowa FFA Academic Achievement Award.
State FFA leadership development events will be held on April 14, 2025, at Iowa State University with Boone’s state qualifiers competing against the top 12 FFA Chapters in the state of Iowa.
