BOONE, Iowa—The City of Boone is currently seeking applications from qualifying entities that wish to participate in the City’s Human Service Grant Program. The program is funded with 5% of the Local Option Sales Tax collected in Boone. Groups have until 5:00 pm on April 15th to submit an application and with the 15th being on a Sunday this year, that means applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on the 16th. Application information is available on the city’s website.
A separate committee will review the applications and will forward a list of recommendations to the full council for consideration. The Human Service Funds are distributed in two payments and will be for the new fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2018.
