A transition to snow will develop across western Iowa by late Saturday afternoon, then spreading east into central Iowa during the evening & overnight. The potential exists for 6”+ in some areas. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for areas west of a Cedar Rapids to Des Moines to Lamoni line. Significant travel problems will likely develop as northwest wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph create widespread blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural areas.
