BOONE, Iowa—In response to the current outbreak of COVID-19, The Salvation Army of Boone has announced that their Social Service Office will temporarily become strictly appointment based rather than walk-in based.
The Salvation Army is asking that, starting today, those who need Food Pantry Assistance, Rent Assistance, and Utility Assistance, contact their office first to schedule an appointment to be seen. Food Pantry appointments will take place every 15 minutes, while Rent/Utility Assistance will take place every 30 minutes. Their office hours will continue to be Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“After speaking with my staff, we feel that this temporary change in our protocols will help with keeping our staff and clients safe, during this time” Lt. Beardsley, corps officer, stated. “We continue to be fully dedicated to helping our community and have no plans to suspend serving.”
Those who are seeking assistance should call The Salvation Army of Boone at 515-432-5770 to schedule an appointment.
