Email that was sent out to summer sports parents in Boone

Toreador Families,

The Governor, Department of Education, and IHSAA/IGHSAU have given their approval for a Summer Sports Season.  Practices are set to start on Monday, June 1, with competition projected to begin on June 15.  While we are excited for our student-athletes to have the opportunity to play this Summer, we will be looking at a lot of guidelines and protocols that will need to be followed in order for us to safely navigate a season.  We are asking for all of your patience and understanding.  We are still waiting on further specifications from the state, as well as guidelines from our School District and the Raccoon River Conference.  I’ve been in consistent communication with our coaches, and we will attempt to get information out to you as soon as possible.  Thank you all for your patience and willingness to cooperate with us given the nature of our current situation.
