DEES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released this weeks fuel report and retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 19 cents with a statewide average of $4.76.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $20.40 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $96.17.
- Brent crude oil fell $20.91 and currently priced at $98.84.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $64.80 and Brent crude was at $67.95.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, March 16, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.91 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 2 cents from last week’s price and $1.10 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $4.31, up 6 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 19 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.76.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.14 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 34 cents less than the national average of $5.10.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.77 for U87-E10, $3.11 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.25 for ULSD#2, $3.37 for ULSD#1, and $2.65 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up 3 cents with a statewide average of $2.17 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices fell 1 cent, with a statewide average of $4.10 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices rose 15 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.67/MMbtu.
