BOONE, Iowa—Karen Lynn (Ray) Miller, age 64 of Boone, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.Karen was born on August 10, 1957 in Boone, the daughter of Leonard and Kayneta (Wolf) Ray. She graduated from Boone High School in 1976.On December 18, 1976, Karen was united in marriage with Bryon Miller at First United Methodist Church in Boone. From this union were three children, Jim, Jason and Amy.Karen was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed going camping as her kids were growing up. After her kids were raised, she went to work as a dietary aid at Ledges Manor, Abington Manor, Ogden Manor and Westhaven Community, formerly known as the Evangelical Free Church Home.Karen enjoyed BINGO especially the trips to Meskwaki Bingo Casino and bowling leagues. She was a State Bowling Champion multiple times. Karen also enjoyed shopping, specifically year round Christmas shopping. Christmas was the number one holiday for Karen- tons of presents, tall tree and family time. Karen’s family was the most important part of her life. Karen loved to vacation; her all-time favorite being the Black Hills.Karen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bryon; children, Jim (Jill) Miller of Zearing, Jason (Sara) Miller of Boone and Amy (Travis) Price of Boone; grandchildren, Kadin and Nathan Miller, Preston Miller, Myles, Ayden and Gentry Price; and her sisters, Terri (John) McKinney of Boone and Vicki (John) Speed of Sheldahl.Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel.
