Patricia Casotti

KWBG 05/02/22

BOONE, Iowa—Patricia M. (Paris) Casotti, age 91 of Boone, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Patricia was born on September 12, 1930 in Fraser, the daughter of Cloyd and Olive (Martz) Paris. She attended Fraser and Pilot Mound Schools, graduating in 1948.

Patricia was united in marriage with Dean Woodrow Casotti on October 27, 1954 at First United Methodist Church in Boone. Following a wedding trip to Colorado, they made their home in Fraser until 1964 when they purchased their forever home in Boone.

Patricia worked at SuperValu and was a stay-at-home mom, later working in the Franklin Elementary School kitchen, where she served more hugs to “her kids” than lunch.

Patricia enjoyed watching her beloved Chicago Cubs and Iowa and Iowa State sports, journaling, playing guitar, writing poetry, and being in the kitchen making her favorite recipes. The Casotti house ALWAYS had cookies.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean in 2020; infant granddaughter, Courtney Rae Aspengren; 10 siblings, Waneta King, Ruth Paris, Geraldine Woodyard, Betty Keeler, CP Paris, Bill Paris, Ray Paris, Janice Patterson, Larry Paris, and Judy Sondall; and her beloved cat, Earl.

She is survived by her four daughters, Cindy (Dave) Briley, Sue (Tom) Finestead, Julie (Phil) Eastlund, and JoAnn (Rob) Cornelis, all of Boone; grandchildren, Matt (Cathy) Briley, Aaron (Brittani) Briley, Katie (Kristen) Bollenbaugh, Clay (Shelbi) Cornelis, Justin Aspengren, and Maggie Cornelis; great granddaughters, Oaklynn Briley and Ellison Bollenbaugh; sisters-in-law, Donna Paris, Shirley Howes, Marilyn Casotti; brothers-in-law, Don Sondall and Marvin Patterson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Family will be present 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.
