Boone FFA Students Advance to State

BOONE, Iowa—Eighteen students from Boone High School competed in Leadership Development Events at the North Central District FFA Convention on Saturday, March 2, 2024.  The events were held at West Marshall High School in State Center and included 40 schools from north central Iowa. Leadership development events are skill based competitions in which FFA members demonstrate leadership and career skills either individually or as a team. Members of the Boone A&M FFA Chapter competed in five LDE areas with the following results:

Chapter Program – 1st Place Gold and advancing to State

Delaney Good, Danielle Goudie and Emma Wiebold

Parliamentary Procedure – Silver Rating

Levi Behn, Jenna Johnson, Braxton Hanson, Ashlyn Lovig, Cooper Naeve

Ag Issues – Silver Rating

Jackson Eickholt, Henderson Gustafson, Wyatt Herrstrom, Ethan Muhlenburg, Gavin Niles, Ethan Ward and Katelyn Walters

Public Speaking – Silver Rating

Josalyn Elmquist

Chapter Website – Silver Rating

Mackenzie Sego and Abigail Shaver

The State FFA LDE competitions will be held on April 15, 2024 in Ames at Iowa State University with the top 12 FFA Chapters from across the state competing. The Boone A&M FFA Chapter is a student organization at Boone High School for students enrolled in agricultural education courses with over 120 members.  The mission of FFA is to develop premier leadership, personal growth and career success.  For more information, visit www.bamffa.org
