BOONE, Iowa—Patricia Susan Wilson, 72, of Boone, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2024, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Oakwood Cemetery, Moingona.

Patty was born July 7, 1951, in Boone, the daughter of LaVerne “Bud” and Gwen (Mosher) Platter. She attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1969.

Patty was united in marriage to Donald Wilson and to this union two children were born. They later divorced.

Patty worked numerous office jobs in the Boone area, before continuing her education. She graduated from DMACC with an Associate Degree in Office Technology. Patty then worked as an Office Manager at Professional Property Management for 25+ years until her retirement.

Patty enjoyed reading, going to the casino, traveling (cruises especially), playing dominos with friends, her dog Max and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father, LaVerne “Bud” Platter and granddaughter, Kennedy Wilson.

Patty is survived by her mother, Gwen Platter of Boone; son, Matt (Cindy) Wilson of Fort Dodge; daughter, Staci (Mark) Prokop of Boone; five grandchildren, Brady (Kelli) Wilson, Paige Prokop, Derek Prokop, Jack Rasmussen and Mitchell Rasmussen; two great-granddaughters, Alia Prokop and Charlie Prokop; sister, Linda (Ray) Reindle of Ames; and brother, Steve (Laurie) Platter of Boone.

The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice and the Eastern Star Masonic Home for their care of Patty.
