BOONE, Iowa—William Paul Davidson, 67, of Boone, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2024, at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will be in Boone Memorial Gardens.

William was born October 22, 1956, in Boone, the son of William and Mae (Masear) Davidson. He attended school in Boone and graduated in 1974 from Boone High School. William served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1983.

William was united in marriage to Janie Backous on October 8, 1983, at Bethel Church in Ogden. He raised two sons, Jim Carlson and David Carlson.

William worked for Madden Trucking for many years, then for Archway and most recently in the Fareway Warehouse. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mae Davidson; brother, Ron Davidson; and sister, Delight Davidson.

William is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janie Davidson of Boone; brother, Jerry (Joy) Davidson of Kansas City, MO; son, Jim (Kaylea) Carlson of Boone; son, David Carlson of Boone; grandchildren, Wyatt, Dathan, Elsie, Nova, and Delanie; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jeannie) Backous, Jr. of Boone and Harold (Lori) Backous of Boone; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Rick) Braland of Ogden and Diane (Steve) Braland of Story City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
