The Ogden boys (Class 1A, No. 2) placed 2nd while the Madrid girls (Class 1A, No. 1) placed 4^th at the West Central Athletics Conference on Thursday, October 17 at Adair-Casey-Guthrie Center. 

The Ogden girls placed 9^th with 242 points, and the Madrid boys placed 8^th with 193 points. 

Des Moines Christian won the boys meet scoring 16 points. Van Meter won the girls meet scoring 56 points. 

Benbow leads Ogden boys 

The Bulldog boys were led by Jude Benbow who placed 5^th in 17:09. 

Two others finished in the top 15. Caden Lerdal finished 14^th in 17:56, and Myles Tromblay was 15^th in 18:00. 

Brady Van Sickle placed in 21^st in 18:12, and Thomas Bergstrom finished 22^nd in 18:15. 

Brandhorst leads Madrid girls 

The Tiger girls were led by Katelyn Brandhorst who placed 6^th in 20:07.30. 

Two additional runners finished in the top 10. Madelyn Grothus was 7^th in 20:13.10, and Hannah Brandhorst finished 9^th in 20:24.00. 

Adelyn White finished 36^th in 22:54.10, and Mila Grothus placed 37^th in 22:57.00. 

Trusler leads Ogden girls 

The top finisher for the Bulldog girls was Addison Trusler who placed 28^th in 22:32 

In addition, Samantha Lass was 39^th in 22:59, and McKenzie Spencer finished 48^th in 23:51. 

Renze leads Madrid boys 

The first across the line for the Madrid boys was Blake Renze who finished19^th in 18:09.70. 

Additionally, Cavin Pehl ended 42^nd in 19:41.10, and Caleb Berberich was 46^th 19:46.70. 

Teams competing at the conference meet include Des Moines Christian, Odgen, Earlham, Adair-Casey-Guthrie Center, Van Meter, Woodward-Granger, Interstate 35 (Truro). Madrid, Pleasantville and Panorama (girls). 

Next week, Ogden travels to Holstein and Madrid travels to Central Springs (Manly) for their Class 1A state qualifying meets on Thursday, Oct. 24.
