William Pepper

BOONE, Iowa—William “Bill” Russell Pepper, 63, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday, October 26, 2024. He was born on December 7, 1960, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Russell and Shirley (Babcock) Pepper. Bill graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1979. He then attended the University of Iowa in 1985.

On May 30, 1987, he married Merry Barney in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they had two children, Emilee and Sam. On July 12, 2014, Bill married Dee Ann (Jacobs) Moline in Johnston, Iowa. They enjoyed ten wonderful years together, and he passed with his loving wife by his side.

Prior to his death, Bill worked as an accountant at Almaco in Nevada, Iowa. He was a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church in Boone. He enjoyed working out at the Strength Shop in Boone, bicycling on the High Trestle Trail, and bourbon “chasing”. Bill loved his family and friends more than anything. He was known for his quick wit and sarcasm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Shirley Pepper; brother, Larry Pepper; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dee Ann of Boone, IA; children: Emilee Pepper of Ogden, UT, Sam Pepper of Pleasant Grove, UT, Joshua (Becca) Moline of Madison, WI, Kelsey Moline of Boone, IA, and Claire Moline of Dallas, TX; grandson, Brooks Albert of Dallas, TX; sister, Pat (John) Houar of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, Craig (Becky) Pepper of West Des Moines, IA; sister-in-law, Marcia (David) Pepper-Ellis; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Cornerstone Alliance Church in Boone. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be before the service from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
