Sidney Durham

KWBG 11/21/24

BOONE, Iowa—Sidney Arthur Durham, 89, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 with family by his side. Sidney was born November 8, 1935 in Cushing, Iowa.

He served in the Army from 1955-1957 during the Korean Conflict.

Sidney worked as a mechanic for Volger Nieman, Wiley Clemons. He moved to Winnett, Montana in 1980 and became a Deputy Sheriff. He also worked on a ranch branding cattle and working as a ranch hand. Sidney moved back to Boone in 1985 and worked at Randy’s Frozen Meats then worked at Lazer Car Wash until his retirement.

Sidney had a number of hobbies, including Trail Riding Pony Express, Iowa State Trail Riders, fishing, golfing and working wood crafts.

Sidney was a member of VFW Post 817, Boone, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, a sister, a daughter Shelly. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Carolyn, son Dallas (Christine) Boone, daughter Kim (Dan) Billings, Montana, multiple grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, November 30th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 817, 815 Keeler Street, Boone, Iowa 50036.
