Brody Buck passed the 1,000-point mark for his career as the Madrid boys’ basketball team beat Woodward Academy, 95-49 Tuesday, January 14, in Madrid in non-conference play.
The Tigers started strong and led, 26-13, after the 1st quarter. Their lead increased to 44-24 at the half.
Madrid increased its lead to 67-34 at the end of the 3rd quarter and won the game, 95-49.
Brody Buck was one of 4 Tigers in double figures with 17 points on 8 field goals and 1 3-popinter and 5 assists.
Emerson Bridgewater led the scoring with 29 points on 12 field goals, 4 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Jevyn Severson had 22 points on 7 field goals and 8 free throws and 5 assists.
Toryn Severson had 18 points on 7 field goals, 1 3-pointer and 3 free throws.
For the Tiger defense, Jevyn Severson had 11 rebounds, Bridgewater grabbed 8 rebounds and 2 blocks and Buck had 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Madrid improved to 12-0 overall and will return to conference action to face Des Moines Christian (9-2, 4-2).
The Tigers play a double header with the girls at 6:15 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, at Des Moines Christian.
