Six players scored double figures for the Class 1A, No. 2, Madrid boys’ basketball team as the Tigers beat Ogden, 100-30, Tuesday, February 4, in Ogden in West Central Conference action.
The Tigers led, 22-9, at the end of the 1st half and were up 59-19 at the half.
Madrid continued to roll and were ahead, 87-21, at the end of the 3rd quarter and ended the game, 100-30.
Jevyn Severson led all scorers with 24 points on 11 field goals and 2 free throws, and Toryn Severson had 20 points on 9 field goals and 2 free throws.
Fabian Ortiz-Alaniz scored 14 points on 6 field goals, 5 of which were 3-pointers, while Brody Buck had 14 points on 5 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 2 free throws.
Emerson Bridgewater had 12 points on 6 field goals, and Zachery Newell scored 10 points on 3 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 2 free throws.
Buck had 9 assists while Ortiz-Alaniz and Toryn Severson had 6 each.
For the Madrid defense, Toryn Severson had 15 rebounds, 1 block and 5 steals, and Bridgewater grabbed 7 rebounds and 2 steals,
Buck, Jevyn Severson and Ortiz-Alaniz all had 6 rebounds each.
The Bulldogs were led by Jordan Benjamin, Jase Coleman and Nate Swisher who all had 8 points each.
Regan Ristvedt had 2 assists.
Coleman and Brayden Miller had 2 rebounds each.
Madrid improved to 18-0 overall and 13-0 in the conference while Ogden fell to 6-12 overall and 4-9 in the conference.
Madrid will play Interstate 35 (8-10 overall, 5-5 conference) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7, in Truro.
Ogden will play Glidden-Ralston (10-8) at 7:30 on Thursday, February 6, in Glidden.
