BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Police Department today released information on a case that has resulted in robbery and kidnapping charges. The following release was posted by the Boone Police Department:
On January 20, 2025, Boone Police Officers and Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a location in Boone County on reports of an assault. The initial investigation led officers to a residence in the City of Boone. A search warrant was conducted on this residence by the Boone Police Department and the Central Iowa Drug Task Force. The subsequent investigation led to search warrants of four additional residences in the following cities: Boone, Altoona, and two in Ames. The Boone Police Department was assisted in these search warrants by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Central Iowa Drug Task Force, Altoona Police Department, and Ames Police Department.
Summary of the event: A male victim was lured to a residence in Boone by a female suspect. At that residence, the victim was beaten, hooded, his hands tied, and his belongings taken from him by three male suspects. The victim was then transported against his will to a location in the county and dropped off. The suspects then fled the area with the victim’s vehicle and belongings. Firearms are believed to have been used in the robbery.
The following suspects have each been charged with Robbery 1st Degree (711.2) and Kidnapping 2nd Degree (710.3(1)).
