Iowa National Guard Deployment Town Hall Meeting

KWBG 03/11/25

BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa National Guard invites community members, local leaders, and media representatives to a town hall meeting to discuss the upcoming deployment of the 2/34th Infantry Brigade Combat Team to the Middle East. The meeting will take place on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Boone Readiness Center.

Military leaders from the Brigade along with representatives of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) will be present to answer questions from the public and media.

The 2/34th Infantry Brigade Combat Team has entered its final year in a 5-year readiness cycle and upon completion, over 1,800 soldiers of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team are scheduled to deploy to the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) is a rotational deployment to the Middle East that has been ongoing for the past 8 years, with different national guard states and active-duty units consistently taking part in fulfilling the mission.

We recognize that deployment affects not just our soldiers but also their families and the communities they serve. This town hall is an opportunity to share information and ensure our Service Members, their loved ones, and members of the community feel supported.

All are encouraged to attend and learn more about the Iowa National Guard’s training cycle and upcoming deployment.
