Boone Woman Injured in Ames Accident Monday

AMES, Iowa—A Boone woman was flown to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines Monday, due to injuries sustained in a two car accident a little after 1:20 in the afternoon at the roundabout at University Boulevard and Oakwood Road. According to the accident report from the Iowa State Patrol, 54 year old Carla Tidgren of Boone was traveling through the roundabout when a car, operated by 34 year old Timothy Sites of Los Angeles, California entered the roundabout and did not yield, striking the Tidgren vehicle. The accident did close down the roundabout for some time. Multiple agencies assisted at the scene. There has been no update on Tidgren’s injuries. The report did not indicate if Sites received any injuries.

Previous: Dr. Julie Trepa, Superintendent, Boone Community School District visits about the Boone School Board Meeting. The Board did accept a bid for a roofing project at Franklin Elementary. The bid, just under $580,000 was submitted by Central States Roofing from Ames and will begin in June. Trepa also talked about the agreement with the Boone Education Association and the Board’s approval for the District’s Budget Reduction Plan, expected to be just over $500,000.
