All 3 Boone County girls’ track teams competed at the ISU indoor meet on Friday, March 14, in Ames.
The Madrid girls’ track team competed in Class 1A and was led by Paige Richards, who had a pair of 2nd place finishes.
She finished 2nd in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.01 in the 200-meter dash in 26.68
In the distance races, Katelyn Brandhorst finished 4th in the 800-meter run in 2:30.10.
Madelyn Grothus finished 6th in the 3,000-meter run in 11:32.80, and Hannah Brandhorst placed 8th in the1500-meter run in 5:18.20.
Inna Howard was also 8th in the 400-meter dash in 1:05.77, and Lauren Dvorak placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 32 –00.25.
The 4×800-meter relay finished 4th in 10:46.01.
Lass finishes 2nd in high jump, Graden places 2nd in long jump
Ogden also had a pair of 2nd place finishes.
Samantha Lass was 2nd in the Class 2A high jump with a jump of 5-01.00.
Taydem Graden placed 2nd in the long jump in 17-04.25, and she also placed 2nd in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.04.
Three relays for the Bulldogs placed in the top 10.
The 800-meter sprint relay placed 6th in 1:57.54, the shuttle hurdle relay placed 9th in 46.64, and the 4×100-meter relay places 10th in 53.02.
La Mar places 5th in shot put for Boone
Two Toreadors placed in the shot put.
Jen La Mar was 5th with a throw of 36-04, and Emma Wiebold was 8th with a throw of 34-01.25.
For Boone, the sprint medley relay of Hailee Bingham, Halle Bailey, Avah Hayes and Piper Klein finished 13th in 2:02.10.
The 4×100 relay of Bailey, Avery Howie, Hayes and Bingham finished 16th in 54.70.
