BOONE, Iowa—Betty Malloy, 88, of Boone, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Betty was born on October 18, 1936, in Indianola, the daughter of Arthur and Lucile Gates, then raised in southern Iowa by Charles and Lucile Borrall after her remarriage. She was employed as a Ward Clerk at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for a number of years.

Betty was united in marriage to Richard Woolsey in Des Moines, with two children, Mickie and Michael. Richard passed away. Betty was then married to Bill Malloy, until his passing.

Betty’s faith was very important to her, she was raised as a Southern Baptist and after moving to Boone became a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church. She loved being outdoors, her daily walks, gardening and spending time with her pride and joy, her granddaughter, Gina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Mickie; brother, Norman and her sister, Frances.

Betty is survived by her son, Michael (Denise) Woolsey of Ankeny; son-in-law, Mike Stelck of Rochester, MN; granddaughter, Gina Woolsey of Iowa City; and several step-children and their families; and two sisters, Esta and Emma.

Services are pending and will be announced in the near future.
