Boone FFA Recognizes Members at Annual Awards Banquet

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone A&M FFA Chapter held its annual FFA Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Boone High School. FFA members and families gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year. Following the meal, the awards program included membership degrees, awards, recognition of member participation, and installation of the newly elected Chapter Officer team. Awards included:

– 85 first year members were awarded the Greenhand FFA Degree. The Star Greenhand Award, given to the top Greenhand degree recipient, was presented to freshman Matthew Fitzgerald. 

– 8 members were awarded the Chapter FFA Degree. The Star Chapter Degree Award, given to the top student receiving the Chapter Degree, was presented to sophomore Brooklynn Elliott.

– Delaney Good, Henderson Gustafson, Kalvin Holman, Ashlyn Lovig, and Cooper Naeve received their Iowa Degree at the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference earlier this month. 

– Emma Wiebold received the 2025 Outstanding Leadership Award. This award recognizes a student for their leadership skills, dedication to FFA, and service to their school and community over the past four years.

– For over 70 years, the Dekalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award has recognized senior members who have excelled in agricultural education and FFA. The 2025 recipient of the Dekalb Agricultural Accomplish Award was Wyatt Herrstrom.

-Tyler Osborn was presented an award for being the Top Seller in the 2024 FFA Fruit Sales fundraiser. Tyler sold over $3,000 worth of products!

– Emma Wiebold was presented the Most Active Member Award for the 2024-2025 year.

– John and Maria Wiebold, parents of senior FFA member Emma Wiebold, were presented the 2024 Honorary FFA Degree to recognize their support and dedication to the FFA Chapter over the past decade.

To conclude the evening, the 2025-2026 Boone A&M FFA Chapter Officer Team was announced and installed. This group will serve as the leaders of FFA in Boone for the next year. 

The officers are as follows:

Henderson Gustafson, President

Delaney Good, Senior Vice President

Matthew Fitzgerald, Junior Vice President

Jenna Johnson, Secretary

Ashlyn Lovig, Reporter

Jennifer LaMar, Treasurer

Ethan Ward, Sentinel

The Boone A&M FFA Chapter is a student organization for high school students enrolled in agricultural science courses at Boone High School. The mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
