The Boone girls’ swim team had two individuals swim in 3 events at the 2025 Iowa Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet on Thursday, November 13, at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City.
Avery Howie placed 18th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.67 seconds also finished 20th in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:01.52.
Makenzie Klatt swam the 100 backstroke in 1:03.27, earning 28th place.
Boone also qualified all three relays for the state meet, and the relays will compete this afternoon.
The 200 Medley Relay of Howie, Harper Houston, Claire Enabnit, and Quinn Houston is seeded 21st.
The 200 Free Relay of Sara Gute, Quinn Houston, Finley Houser, and Klatt is seeded 30th.
The 400 Free Relay of Quinn Houston, Howie, Finley Houser, and Klatt is seeded 23rd.
