
The Boone Toreadors boys’ wrestling team dominated Gilbert, 71-12, Thursday, January 8, at Gilbert.
Boone won 12 of 14 matches, including 11 by fall or technical fall.
Boone seized control immediately with four straight falls from the lightweights.
Easton Landas had a fall in 1:49 at 106 followed by Aiden Harris with a fall in 2:54 at 113.
Then Mason Oostenink had a fall in 2:56 at 120 followed by Issac McCloud with a fall in 1:05 at 126.
In just four matches, Boone had built a 24–0 lead.
Boone continued its dominance in the middleweights.
Tate Hollenkamp delivered a 17–2 tech fall in 3:19 at 144, and then Owen Thomas pinned his opponent in just 59 seconds at 150.
Boone’s upper weights also dominated.
Brody Warrick had a fall in 1:14 at 165 followed by Trent Eckard with a fall in 1:16 at 175
Macon Robinson had a fall in 0:55 at 190 followed by Hayden Nerem with a fall in 2:48 at 215.
The Toreadors walked away with a 71–12 win.
Boone will travel to Ames Saturday, January 10, for the Mendenhall Invite, which begins at 10 a.m.
