
The Madrid boys golf team faced a strong nine‑team field Thursday, April 16, at the Woodward‑Granger Boys Golf Invitational, finishing ninth overall with a team score of 403.
Ballard captured the team title with a score of 279, followed by North Polk (294), Adel‑DeSoto‑Minburn (296), and Webster City (299).
Boone finished fifth at 317, while Woodward‑Granger and West Marshall tied at 335.
Madrid was led individually by Emerson Bridgewater, who posted the Tigers’ low round of 93.
Zachary Newell followed with a 97, while Terrin Lawrenson carded a 103.
Additional scores for Madrid came from Levi Kockler with a 110, Cory Sexton at 117, and Max Fowler, who rounded out the day with a 123.

The boys will return to action Thursday, traveling to the 5 by 80 Golf & Country Club in Menlo for a co‑ed quad against Earlham, West Central Valley, and Ogden.
