
The Madrid boys track and field team competed in a large, competitive field Thursday at the Saydel Boys Invitational, finishing 10th overall with 35 team points.
Jevyn Severson placed second in the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 1¾ inches and added a third‑place finish in the discus at 145‑11.
Kinnick Grimm placed fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.29 seconds.
The Tigers 4×100-meter relay of Sander Nelson, Loken Velky, Jake Sawyer and Tyler Sonnenfelt placed fifth with a time of 44.54.
The sprint medley relay of Nelson, Mason Morman, Sonnelfelt, Caleb Berberich placed fifth in 1:39.46 .
The Tigers also placed fifth in the shuttle hurdle relay, posting a time of 1:05.81, with Chase Perkins, Sawyer, Velky and Brady Springer.
