
The Madrid girls’ track and field team finished second overall with 104 team points at the Ogden Girls Relays, Thursday, April 16, trailing only Boone which won the meet with 132 points.
Madrid was led by Paige Richards who captured first place in the 100‑meter dash with a time of 13.07 seconds, followed by another victory in the 200-meter dash at 26.79.
She also won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10.50.
Madelyn Grothus earned first place in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:34.31, and later added another event title by winning the 3000-meter run in 11:02.86.
Hannah Brandhorst had a second‑place finish in the 1500-meter run in 5:14.03.
Iyla Fine placed second in the 100‑meter hurdles with a time of 17.51 seconds,
Lauren Dvorak placed second in the discus with a toss of 125-05.25 and third in the shot put with a throw of 37-02.
The distance medley relay team of Olivia Ostert, Jaela Hansen, Kimmee Smith and Brandhorst finished second overall with a time of 4:43.40.
Madrid also placed third in the shuttle hurdle relay as Ashlyn Burkhart, Charlotte Schaeller, Kiera Alt and Fine combined for a time of 1:15.06.

The girls will travel to Bondurant for the Bondurant-Farrar Invite Monday.
