
The Boone boys’ track and field team won the Don Howard Invitational Thursday, April 30, at Goeppinger Field.
Boone captured gold in the 4×800-meter relay, as Austin Felder, Ajay Braddock, Pearson Lampe and Teddy Johnson raced to a winning time of 8:46.71.
The Toreadors also dominated the hurdles, winning the shuttle hurdle relay behind Noel Malin, Bodie Brogden, Brenden Hedrick and Issac McCloud (1:04.75).
Maddox McIntyre earned an individual victory in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line first in 53.35, and Malin won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.57.
In the field events, McCloud cleared 5‑8 to win the high jump, and Jude Baumgardner won the discus with a throw of 149‑10.
Boone finished second in the distance medley relay, with George Grote, Ryder Hilsabeck, Jaydon Clark and Felder posting a time of 3:52.17.
The 4×200-meter relay team of Brenden Hedrick, Trig Nystrom, Gabriel Villalva and Maxwell McLaughlin earned second place in 1:38.87.
Boone’s 4×400-meter relay team placed second, as Clark, Myers, Braddock and McIntyre ran 3:36.57.
Dorian Myers placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.36, while Johnson added a third‑place finish in 2:11.12.
Bodie Brogden finished second in the 110‑meter hurdles (16.15) and second in the 400‑meter hurdles (1:02.17).
Caden Sprecher was second in the discus in 142-10, and Landon Youngblood was second in the high jump with a jump of 5-2.
Calvin Cook placed second in the 3200-meter run.
Jude Baumgardner’s second‑place effort in the shot put in 47-06.50.
Malin earned third in the 110‑meter hurdles (17.50).
Clark finished third in the long jump with a leap of 19‑11.25.
In the 1600-meter run, Felder claimed third place, clocking 4:58.92.
