
The Boone girls’ track and field team won two individual events and one relay Monday, May 11, at the Nevada Girls Invitational, finishing third overall with 102 team points.
West Marshall won the team title with 134 points, followed by Des Moines Christian with 104 points.
Abi Leu won the 100-meter dash in 13.59, and Avah Hayes captured first place in the 400‑meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.46.
The distance medley relay of Halle Bailey, Taylor Arringdale, Mady Davidson and Quinn Houston placed first in 4:39.58.
Reagan Morgan earned a runner‑up finish in the 800-meter run in 2:29.74.
The Toreadors finished second in the 4×100-meter relay with Leu, Tala Wittrock, Arringdale and Bailey in 52.07.
Ainsley Powell placed third in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 8 inches.
Wittrock finished third in the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 14.02 and 28.89, respectively.
Klatt placed third in the 400-hurdles in 1:16.18.
Boone had a third‑place finish in the sprint medley relay with Hadley Gustafson, Klatt, Hayes and Davidson in 2:00.40.
Shuttle hurdle relay of Leu, Klatt, Gustafson and Kyra Darby also placed third in 1:16.42.
Cailynne Peruti finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:17.79.
Darby placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.84 and fifth in the 200 in 30.07.
Houston finished fifth in the 1500-meter run in 6:04.40.
Taylor Arringdale placed sixth in the long jump with her jump of 13-10.50.
Boone placed sixth in the 4×200-meter relay with Norah Baber, Powell, Sara Gute and Taylor Engell in 2:07.96.

The Boone girls and boys next compete at the Class 3A Region 7 State Qualifying Meet Thursday, May 14, at North Polk High School in Alleman.
Teams in the region include Ballard, Boone, Des Moines Hoover, Gilbert, North Polk, Perry, Saydel and Winterset.
