
BOONE, Iowa—Every week, especially in the spring, Boone County authorities get complaints about illegal dumping. The Sheriff’s Department, Boone County Health and Sanitation and Compliance, investigate and try to find those responsible. Meanwhile, Secondary Roads usually needs to pickup trash and take it to the Landfill. Thursday was one of the opportunities when the Sheriff’s Department was successful finding and charging an individual with illegal dumping, reported on the Departments Facebook page:
On Thursday May 14th, around 6:10 PM, the Boone County Communications center received a report of illegal dumping in rural Boone County. Based on the detailed report deputies responded and located the item dumped and the individual that dumped it close by.
The individual involved retrieved the dumped item and was cited and released. The individual is required to appear in court at a later date.
Boone County is comprised of beautiful landscapes all around, illegal dumping pollutes them and costs tax payers to clean up.
