
The Ogden girls track and field team qualified an individual event and a relay for the state track meet at the state qualifying meet Thursday, May 14, at Roland-Story High School in Story City.
Mady Benjamin finished second in the high jump with her jump of 5-00 and earned an automatic berth in that event.
Additionally, the shuttle hurdle relay of Aubrey Leonard, Benjamin, Paysen Graden and Alena Wilson placed third in 1:10.90, and that time earned the Bulldogs an at-large berth.
Ogden finished 10th with 27 points and Van Meter won the meet with 123 points.
The 4×800-meter relay of Trinity Stoneburner, Sophie Seligman, Elyse Fisher and Dakota Jones placed sixth in 10:38.12.
Alena Wilson finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.08 and also placed seventh in the long jump with her jump of 14-11.75.
Kenzie Banks finished seventh in the high jump with her jump of 4-06.
The 4×100-meter relay of Leonard, Christensen, Graden and Benjamin also placed seventh in 54.27.
Graden finished eighth in the long jump with her jump of 14-08, and Gretta Gannon placed eighth in the discus with her throw of 91-00.

The shuttle hurdle relay will compete at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, May 21, and Benjamin will compete in the high jump at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, at the Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet Thursday- Saturday, May 21-23, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
