
The Ogden baseball team used a seventh-inning surge and a strong pitching performance from Colson Carson to defeat West Central Valley, 5–1, in a West Central Activities Conference matchup Monday, June 15, at Stuart.
Ogden and West Central Valley were locked in a scoreless battle until the Wildcats broke through with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 1–0 lead.
That advantage held until the seventh, when Ogden’s offense came alive.
The Bulldogs broke through in a big way in their final at-bat, scoring all five of their runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Keagan Ristvedt led the charge with two hits, one run scored, and one RBI.
Christian Thede added a hit, a run scored, and an RBI, and Brody Burdette delivered a hit and an RBI.
Thomas Bergstrom and CeJay Jones both finished with a hit and a run scored.
Treyton Mitchell and Hunter Mitchels each added a hit.
Colson Carson also had an RBI.
Carson racked up 11 strikeouts while allowing just one run in a complete-game effort.
With the win, Ogden improves to 9–9 overall and 6–6 in conference play, while West Central Valley drops to 4–11 overall and 1–10 in the West Central Activities Conference.
Ogden returns home tonight, hosting Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in a conference contest scheduled for 7 p.m.
