
The Ogden softball team scored seven runs in the first inning on its way to a 13-1 victory over West Central Valley in a West Central Activities Conference matchup at West Central Valley High School Monday, June 15, in Stuart.
Ogden added to its advantage with three more runs in the fourth inning and another three in the fifth.
West Central Valley’s lone run came in the bottom of the third inning.
Harleigh Janssen collected two hits, while Clara Kruse finished with two hits, one run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in a standout performance.
Grace Christensen added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI, and Adi Banks contributed two hits, three runs scored and two RBI.
Sarah Seligman had a hit, two runs scored and three RBI, while Sophie Seligman drove in two runs on one hit.
Aubrey Leonard chipped in a hit and scored a run, and Lauren Mathews added a hit.
Katie Wilcoxson delivered a complete game victory, striking out five while limiting West Central Valley to a single run.
With the win, Ogden improved to 11-10 overall and 5-7 in conference play.
West Central Valley dropped to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
Ogden will return home to host Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (3-12) in conference action tonight.
