
The No. 14-ranked Boone softball team lost a Raccoon River Conference battle Thursday, June 25, falling 10-7 to Ballard in Huxley.
Tenley Williams delivered two hits, including a home run, and scored two runs while Brooke Weisbrod contributed with two hits, highlighted by a home run, and scored once.
Olivia Garver had three hits, and Claire Hardinger added two hits and scored twice,
Harper Kuehl recorded two hits as well, including a double, and crossed the plate once.
Halle Bailey chipped in with a hit and a run scored, and Kaylee Kuehl added a hit to round.
(RBI totals were not available.)
Weisbrod got the start for Boone and recorded two strikeouts but was took the loss.
Williams came on in relief and struck out two batters.
The loss drops Boone to 12-11 overall and 4-7 in conference play, while Ballard improves to 9-15 overall and matches Boone at 4-7 in the league standings.
Boone will face a tough test early next week, traveling to take on top-ranked Adel-DeSoto-Minburn in a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader on Monday, June 29.
ADM enters the matchup with a 24-4 overall record and an 11-1 conference mark.
