
The Boone softball team ran into the top team in the state Monday, June 29, dropping both games of a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader to top-ranked Adel-DeSoto-Minburn.
ADM took the opener 7-3 before completing the sweep with a 3-0 victory in Game 2 at Adel.
Game 1: No. 1 ADM 7, Boone 3
Kaylee Kuehl recorded two hits, including a home run, drove in a run, and scored twice to account for much of the Toreadors’ offense.
Finley Houser added a hit, while Hadley Gustafson crossed the plate for Boone’s third run.
Kuehl also took on pitching duties in relief, recording five strikeouts.
Game 2: ADM 3, Boone 0
Kuehl again led the offense with a hit, and Tenley Williams took the loss as ADM completed the sweep with a 3-0 decision.
With the two losses, Boone falls to 12-13 overall and 4-10 in conference play.
ADM improves to 27-4 overall and 13-1 in the conference.
Boone will host Nevada (9-15) tonight at Gary Creasman Field for senior night.
