BOONE, Iowa—First there was the Boone Arts Council, then the Arts Advisory Board. The idea was the same, to promote public arts in the community. The biggest issue discovered recently, the funding stream was questioned which led to the City Council repealing the ordinance that established the board. Instead, the Council will handle arts projects through the Economic Development Committee.
The first project is collecting public information to give the some direction to their efforts. The public is being asked to participate in the survey to get that information.
