08/03/26
Officer received a call of an overgrown lot on East 6th Street. The owner came into city hall and advised city staff that the lot would be mowed and the mound of dirt all leveled out at the end of the week.
Officer spoke to a subject who lost a key fob between Perry and the High Tressel Bridge parking lot, on the East side of the bridge. Officer informed her that it had not been turned in but took her phone number down in case it was located.
Officer tagged two vehicles for removal, at 3rd and South State Street. Officer left a voicemail on his cell that they would be towed in 7-days if they were not removed. Officer spoke to the owner a month ago who stated that he would have them removed. Officer is attempting to clean up the downtown for the annual Labor Day Celebration.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who wanted to make a call for service for an incident that occurred at the Madrid Home with his mother. Officer informed him that a call for service was already made but that if he wanted to make a witness statement that it could be added to the case file and shared with the state for their investigation into the incident.
Officer responded to the 600 block of Maverick Lane, on a reckless driving complaint. In the area, officer was unable to locate what had been described as two ATVs being loud and reckless.
Officer fielded several phone calls and advised several residents on both criminal and civil matters.
Officer responded to the 100 block of South County Line Road on a lift assist.
08/04/26
Officer assisted with a medical call at Medicap. Officer stayed on scene until medical personnel arrived and took over treatment. Officer notified family members of the incident and gave them information on where the patient would be transported.
Officer met with a Madrid business owner and watched videos of two different groups of kids entering a downtown building on Sunday. The first group of (5) boys kicked the plywood door in and entered the building at 4:30am. The second group entered the building after finding it open at 5:30pm. Officer spoke to the second group that entered and gave them and their parents a trespass warning for the property and informed them that if they were caught back on the property, that they would be charged with trespassing. Officer also gave one a warning for riding a golf cart under the legal age of 16 and told the guardians that if the juvenile was found again, that she would be cited. Criminal charges are pending on the first group that did the damage and forced entry into the building.
Officer met with city hall staff. Who turned over a lost/found item, that was located on the trail and turned in. If you are missing an item, call the Madrid Police Department to claim.
Officer followed up on a sexual abuse case and worked with cooperating agencies during the investigation.
Officer spoke with a Madrid resident regarding an assault, and a warrant was issued for the appropriate party.
08/05/26
Officer received a report of a dog running in the 600 block of East 1st Street. Officer was unable to locate the dog.
Officer addressed a parking issue, in the cul-de-sac, on Springer Court. Business trucks were parked on both sides causing issues. A quick drive through in the police vehicle, cleared the side of the road clearly marked no parking.
Officer stopped and spoke to a daycare on Springer Court, and traded sticker badges for fishing tips, from the fishing professional staff members, that stay there during their day.
Officer followed up on a criminal case from over the weekend. Officer interviewed several people and received additional information.
Officer received a complaint of a juvenile who has yelled profanities at a past school employee several times, including tonight. Officer called the parent and asked her to speak to the child and let them know that this was not going to continue to happen.
08/06/26
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue, on a medical call on Newton Road. Officer stayed with the patient until Boone County Ambulance arrived to take over treatment. The patient was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Officer was called to the 500 block of South State, to assist the owner with trying to open a motorhome that the keys got locked into. Officer was unable to get into the vehicle but provided the owner a business to call to assist.
Officer followed up with a burglary case from over the weekend and gained evidence to help with identifying one of the 5 suspects.
Officer assisted Madrid Rescue, with a medical call at the Madrid Home. Boone County Ambulance arrived and transported the patient to the hospital for treatment.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue on a medical call in the 600 block of Maverick Lane.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a Madrid resident reported their back porch sliding glass door had been shot out with a BB gun. Officer was able to narrow down the suspects and during an interview was able to gain a confession from a juvenile. The juvenile was charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd degree
Officer was asked by dispatch, to assist in the 1800 block of 330th Street, for a child custody issue. Officer arrived on scene and informed all parties the issues they were having is a civil issue handled in civil court and child custody proceedings.
Officer was dispatched to the Market of Madrid for a report of a hit n run; the victim was able to get a license plate. Officer will attempt to make contact with the other party who lives in Story County.
Officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a burglar alarm at Whatcha Smokin in Luther, upon arrival Officer discovered it was an employee returning equipment from another event.
08/07/26
Officer stopped by a residence on East 1st Street, after public works noted an overgrown hedge blocking the alleyway behind the home. No one was home so the officer left a card in the door. The owner later called stating they would address it soon.
Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on East 3rd Street. There was minimal damage to one of the vehicles, non-reportable accident. Officer assisted with an info exchange.
Officer met with a subject, that turned in lost/found property.
Officer assisted a Conservation Ranger at the Swede Point Park campground with a domestic situation at a campsite. The parties agreed to part ways, but the only vehicle they had was disabled. Officer assisted the female and two juveniles with a ride into a friend’s house in town.
Officer responded to the 600 block of Maverick Lane, on a medical/mental health call. Patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Officer conducted a public assist over the phone and advised the caller that it is, in fact, a chargeable offense to urinate in public.
Officer responded to the 500 block of West 5th Street, on the report of a suspicious skunk. Unfortunately, officers were unable to locate the little guy.
08/08/26
Officer was dispatched to the area of Madrid Elementary School on a possible intoxicated driver that was headed out of the city. Officer was unable to locate vehicle with the five-minute time delay that proceeded the call.
Officer responded to the 200 block of East 22nd Street, on a noise complaint. The appropriate party was advised that it was after midnight and they needed to tone down the volume.

Officer responded to the 900 block of Kennedy Avenue, on a mental health/medical call. Patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
