08/17/26
Officer was dispatched to call a subject back, who wanted information on a call from last night. Officer tried calling the subject back and she did not answer. Officer received a call back from her later and the officer gave her information on location of property and a family member.
Officer met with two Madrid residents, who turned in a lost/found cell phone that was located on the trail. The phone belonged to a subject that officers dealt with the night before on a call on the trail. The officer put the phone with other items being held for the subject for safe keeping.
Officer spoke to the Public Works Director in reference to temporary road closures today, on both Highways, in order to paint the streets in both school areas.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who wanted to report that when she is at a family members house, that the neighbor dog stands in the fenced back yard and barks at her. She states that it is a pit-bull mix. Officer informed her to call when the barking is happening and he would speak to the owner. She was worried that the dog was going to get out and bite her even though it had never tried in the past.
Officer was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Madrid Elementary School. Turned out to be a false alarm after workers accidently set it off.
Officer spoke to a resident over the phone regarding grass clippings being left out in the roadway after mowing. Officer confirmed that someone was coming back to blow the grass back up and over the curb.
Officer assisted a resident with retrieving his belongings that were being held onto for him for safekeeping.
Officer assisted with corralling a loose dog in the 500 block of West Second Street. This was a team effort, as the dog was described as being a “grumpy old man”.
Officer advised over the phone regarding a civil dispute over a vehicle that had been voluntarily loaned to a friend, who was being described as being unwilling to turn the car back over to its owner.
Officer spoke to a citizen regarding a welfare check that they wanted to have done on a family member in the area. It was determined that the area in question was out in the county. The information was relayed to BCSO dispatch and deputies, who checked the welfare of the individual. The original caller was notified that their family member was safe and sound.

Officer assisted a military recruiter with a background check, on a Madrid resident, who is wanting to sign up.
Officer followed up on a junk vehicle and overgrown yard on East 6th Street. Nothing had been done. Officer will serve the property owner an official notice and then start enforcement actions to clean up the property and put all fees on his utility bill. Officer attempted to hand serve the notice but the subject would not answer the door. Notice was posted on the door.
Officer received a complaint of a subject throwing catfish carcasses in the city sewer, just off of Veteran’s Square. Officer received a name of the subject that did it and he will be located and made to clean up the mess so that the smell does not affect the Labor Day Celebration.

Officer received a call from a Madrid resident, wanting to know about the curfew laws in the city. Her juvenile son had been sneaking out and walking around town in the early morning hours. Officer explained the law to the caller and explained possible steps that would be followed if the juveniles were caught out past curfew.
Officer was dispatched to a reckless driver Southbound on Highway 17. Due to the time delay of the call, the vehicle was South of Dollar General by the time the officer received the information and due to heavy traffic on the Highway, the officer was not able to catch-up. The call was passed onto Dallas County.
Officer sent the Boone County Attorney’s Office, video evidence on two upcoming court cases, stemming from court cases in the city.
Officer was dispatched to return a call to HHS in reference to a possible scam. Officer spoke to staff there who gave information on a possible credit card scam that was called in. Officer called and spoke to the subject, who stated that he indeed opened the account and made the charges. Officer informed him to contact him if he did find any fraudulent purchases on the new account.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of South Greene Street, for a juvenile not following orders by the parents. Officer spoke to the juvenile and gave him a positive speech about earning respect back after consequences from his own negative actions. Officer informed all parties to call back if instances continue to occur and applicable actions would be taken on the law enforcement side if needed.
Officer received a call regarding needing a salvage inspection, Officer advised them to call back tomorrow when the person who performs the inspections is available.
Officer received a phone call regarding an ongoing case. Officer took down information to pass on to the case officer.
08/20/26
Officer was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Madrid Home. It turned out to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, for an emergency medical call. Officer stayed with the patient until Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance arrived. Officer called several family members and gave notification to them.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical call in the 800 block of South State Street. Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance on scene.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance with a medical call at Meadow Estates.
Officer attempted to serve requested papers to a Madrid resident, no one was home and could not get anyone to answer the phone.
Officer received a phone call regarding salvage inspection.

Officer spoke with a subject reference obtaining a no contact order.
Officer spoke with a subject about parking in the city right of way.
Officer made a trip out to serve requested paperwork to a Madrid resident.
Officer spoke with a resident via phone regarding a harassing incident. All applicable parties were advised.
08/22/26
Officer spoke with a man about his neighbor’s grass getting overgrown. Officer spoke with the neighbor who agreed to mow the grass.
Officer responded to Kennedy Avenue, for a report of a reckless driver. It was determined that the call was originally made to Dallas County and forwarded on to Boone Dispatch with a substantial time delay, the vehicle was unable to be located.
Officer responded to North Locust Street, for a road rage incident that started near the elementary and ended on Locust. It was found that there was a misunderstanding between the motorists about the intent of unexpected braking, the party at fault apologized and went on their way with a warning from the officer.
Officer responded to the area of the 100 block of Walnut Street, on the report of a reckless driver, and was unable to locate anyone driving recklessly.
Officer responded to the 300 block of Water on a found dog. The dog was returned to the owner.
Officer advised a resident via the phone of harassment, at the request of the reporting party.
08/23/26
Officer spoke with a Madrid resident regarding a dog bite.
Officer responded to the area of the 1500 block of Highway 210, on a possible vandalism complaint. Officer spotted the vehicle associated with two juveniles who were reported to have been throwing things off of the bridge in the construction area. Both were advised.
Officer responded to Git N Go on a commercial alarm. Upon arrival, all doors were locked up and the business was dark. Everything checked okay at that time.Officer responded to the 600 block of Green Street on a vehicle alarm.
