The Ogden boys’ cross country team opened its 2026 season Saturday, August 29, at the Dragon Invitational at Johnston High School.
Ogden did not record a team score because the Bulldogs had only four runners finish the varsity race, but the meet provided an early test against some of the state’s top programs.
Junior Myles Tromblay led the Bulldogs, placing 38th overall in a time of 16 minutes, 58 seconds, while setting a personal record.
Senior Bek Anderson was the second Bulldog across the finish line, taking 73rd place in 17:49, also a personal-best effort.
Freshman Luke Fisher added a strong performance in 18:37 and earning a personal record as well.
Junior Levi Venard rounded out Ogden’s finishers in 29:39.
Several Bulldogs did not finish the race.
The boys field featured 440 runners, with team champion West Des Moines Dowling Catholic winning with 67 points.
Ogden competes in Class 1A and entered the season ranked No. 20.
The Bulldogs will run at a meet hosted by Madrid at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, September 3, at Grants Woods Park.
