Boone boys’ cross country competes at Bondurant-Farrar

The Boone boys' cross country team finished fifth at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational on Thursday, September 3, with Austin Felder leading the Toreadors in the 5-kilometer race.

The Boone boys’ cross country team finished fifth at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational on Thursday, September 3, with Austin Felder leading the Toreadors in the 5-kilometer race. 

Felder paced Boone with a 32nd-place finish, crossing the line in 20 minutes, 37.20 seconds.  

Jonathan Myers was Boone’s second finisher, taking 36th place in 20:57.51. 

Ace Wolfgram finished 40th overall in 21:06.65, less than 10 seconds behind Myers. 

Pearson Lampe added a 43rd-place finish in 21:21.11, while Samuel Hanna rounded out Boone’s scoring runners in 47th place with a time of 22:08.54. 

Samuel Chesnut placed 48th in 22:12.95.  

Caleb Bartlett followed in 50th at 22:16.15, while Calvin Cook finished 52nd in 22:22.10. 

Payce Crandall completed Boone’s varsity lineup with a 62nd-place finish in 23:20.78. 

The individual race was won by Bondurant-Farrar’s Ryler Hanson in 16:48.31.  

Carlisle’s Felipe Saldana was second in 16:50.99, while Bondurant-Farrar’s Clark Bennett placed third in 17:21.18.

The Toreadors competed against Bondurant-Farrar, Carlisle, Winterset and North Polk. 

Boone will compete at the Gilbert Cross Country meet Thursday, September 10, held at the Iowa State University cross country course in Ames.
